The VERUS ENGINEERING A0049A Backing Plate Kit is designed to improve front brake cooling efficiency on the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, Toyota GT86, and GR86 platforms. The system combines a durable stainless steel backing plate with a properly formed dry carbon air duct that directs cooling airflow into the center of the brake rotor. This configuration supports improved thermal management during high-load driving conditions.

When connected to a standard 2.5-inch silicone brake duct hose, the backing plates allow fresh air to be routed directly through the rotor vanes. This helps increase braking endurance, extend component life, reduce brake fade, and lower the risk of brake fluid boiling. The design is compatible with both OEM and aftermarket big brake Kits, making it suitable for street, track day, and motorsport applications.
