The KMP DRIVETRAIN Vantrex driveshaft heatshields are engineered to protect the original driveshaft boots near the differential from excessive radiant heat generated by the exhaust system. This issue is particularly common on modified BMW M Series vehicles equipped with lowered suspension and aftermarket exhaust systems, where reduced clearance increases thermal exposure.

During spirited driving and track use, significant heat buildup occurs in the differential area. Prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can cause the driveshaft boots to degrade, leading to grease breakdown, loss of lubrication, and potential joint failure. Elevated temperatures may also increase overall differential oil temperature, potentially triggering warning messages and risking long-term damage.

Tested under extreme conditions on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Vantrex heatshields demonstrated a measured heat reduction of nearly 90°C. The shields are manufactured from high-quality aluminum, powder-coated for durability, and feature an integrated aluminum dome plate to optimize heat dissipation.
