The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-inspired design engineered to combine authentic racing heritage with the durability required for modern high-performance road cars. Developed through close collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 adapts the engineering philosophy and iconic design of the legendary BBS E88 race wheel into a format suitable for both everyday driving and track-day performance.
The wheel features a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 combined with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program developed in Japan. This advanced construction increases structural rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, improving steering precision, suspension response, and overall vehicle dynamics. Unlike dedicated race wheels, the RT88 incorporates durable street-ready finishes and enhanced air retention for reliable long-term use.
Manufactured using advanced forging technology and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 achieves an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. The design also ensures compatibility with modern high-performance braking systems, including large brake packages and carbon ceramic brakes.
