The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-derived component engineered for high-performance road vehicles and track-focused driving. Developed through close collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 adapts the legendary design philosophy of the BBS E88 racing wheel for reliable road and track-day use.
The construction combines a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the iconic E88 with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program in Japan. This configuration improves structural rigidity while minimizing unsprung mass, contributing to enhanced steering precision, vehicle balance, and dynamic performance. Unlike dedicated racing wheels, the RT88 features durable surface finishes and improved air retention, eliminating the maintenance requirements typical of pure motorsport components.
Manufactured using advanced forging technology and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 delivers exceptional strength and durability under demanding conditions. The design also provides sufficient clearance for modern high-performance braking systems, including carbon ceramic brake packages, making the wheel suitable for aggressive road use as well as intensive track environments.
