The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-derived component engineered for high-performance road vehicles and track-oriented driving. Developed through close collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 adapts the legendary design and engineering philosophy of the BBS E88 racing wheel for reliable street and track-day use.
The construction integrates a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the iconic E88 with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program in Japan. This architecture increases structural rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, contributing to improved steering response, vehicle balance, and overall handling performance. Unlike dedicated racing wheels, the RT88 features durable finishes and improved air retention, eliminating the maintenance requirements associated with pure motorsport applications.
Manufactured using advanced forging technology and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 delivers exceptional strength and durability. The design also provides adequate clearance for modern high-performance braking systems, including carbon ceramic brake packages, making it suitable for demanding road conditions as well as intensive track use.
